This home had been occupied by the same family for over 70 years and whilst it was well loved it was also very tired and dated. To maximise as much of the backyard space as possible the new owners decided to increase the living space by adding a second storey. This meant demolishing 50% of the original house and starting from new. The theme adopted by the new owners was open plan with lots of natural light. The great features in this property were the use of a large roof window in the Ensuite which allowed natural light to flood the room, the use of raked ceilings in the master bedroom to create a feeling of space and the large bi-fold doors that flow from the living area to the deck and outdoor area.
